A Hand When Veterans Need It
Still Serving Veterans believes in the power of community connections. While providing direct resource help can often be challenging due to demand, our team has a network of willing organizations eager to make a difference. A partnership with Huntsville HVAC company, HC Blake, proved to be worthwhile. Not only that, this type of partnership and assistance reaffirms a commitment by local businesses to take care of our Veterans.
That said, this all important network came in handy at just the right time for one Huntsville, Alabama Veteran!
"Words cannot express how grateful my family and I are for tremendous assistance in helping us get air conditioning for our 93-year-old father, Oliver J. Davis Sr, a Korean War Bronze STAR Medalist Front line Medic."
— Rae E Davis-Phillips
Not only did SSV & HC Blake team up to help a Veteran, HC Blake sent fellow Veterans to help with this HVAC situation.

"Biblically speaking, the 2nd greatest commandment is to “love your neighbor as yourself.” Our Veteran community is the perfect example of this selfless sacrifice to our country. We are called to care for not just those who are wounded. I partnered with SSV to ensure that all of our Veterans would have the resources to help them transition back to civilian life. I believe we owe them that gratitude and financial assistance."

Aaron understood that networking and having a network could greatly improve his career prospects both as he left the military and somewhere down the road. However, quickly after Aaron starting work with an SSV counselor, he discovered some other areas he wanted to improve in.

1st: these folks decided it was a good idea to run a couch on wheels in a race where temps were near 100 degrees!
2nd: SSV took 2nd place behind a team of 5 firefighters.
3rd: SSV won $300 and took home best decorated float. Can't go wrong with the "Jimmy Buffet Parrot" theme.
