Mentorship Through the Military Transition
At SSV, our clients control how far they want to take our offerings. For some, that's just a resume. For others, it's an umbrella of services that involve fellow Veteran counselors.
Through these services, Mentorship is front and center. In fact, the Veteran-to-Veteran approach further highlights our commitment to sound advice from people who have been in your shoes.

Join Us for the Ribbon Cutting of Still Serving Veterans!
We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our new location at 5820 Veterans Parkway, Suite 309, in the Landmark II Commercial buildings (intersection of Whitesville Road and Veterans Parkway).
Date: Wednesday, February 5th
Vet Above Board Event: 9:00 AM
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony: 10:00 AM
Kick off the day with our Vet Above Board event at 9 AM, where Veterans connect with each other, local employers and resources. Then, at 10 AM, join us as we officially cut the ribbon on this new chapter of service to those who have served our nation.
Students Pen Letters to Veterans
Our friends at Redstone Federal Credit Union once again delivered thank-you cards and pictures from students all over North Alabama. The cards thank Veterans and come from various age ranges. SSV has these all over our Huntsville location to share with our clients. We also take them to the local VA hospital and nursing homes to share with our local heroes.
Here's one letter:
"Thank you for saving our world. You are one of the best people in the world!"

This April, we’re proud to offer a FREE roof replacement to a deserving veteran in our community.

Veteran Support Network Saves Christmas
Each holiday season, the SSV Veteran Support Network works to make sure Veterans in North Alabama can support their families. Many subtle circumstances can make putting gifts under the tree for transitioning military families and Veterans, a stressful task.
SSV's Carrie Slezak works tirelessly to pair willing companies with Veteran families to ensure the family nucleus remains strong through the holiday season. Oftentimes, families will put essentials like toilet paper and diapers on their wish-lists which are given to company representatives. If you are interested in sponsoring a family in 2025, please email Carrie at cslezak@ssv.org
Investing In Veterans
Amerigo in Huntsville, Alabama recently held a fundraiser for local Veterans and supported the SSV staff by hosting our Christmas Party! We are so thankful for Amerigo's continued investment in Veterans!
