The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Alabama, in partnership with the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, the University of Alabama School of Social Work and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, will host a one-day conference on Veterans Treatment Courts. The conference will be in the Charger Theatre on the UAH campus. It is open to the public and has been approved for 5.8 hours of CLE credits for attorneys.

Judge Russell created and continues to preside over the nation’s first Veterans Treatment Court in Buffalo, New York, and his court is considered to be the “gold standard” of Veterans Treatment Courts. He is a highly sought speaker on the topic. Dr. Seemann is a licensed psychologist whose research and teaching interests include post-traumatic stress and recovery, chronic pain and resilience, psychometrics, personality, social support and coping. Lt. General Jim Pillsbury has over 38 years leading the men and women of the United States Army. Panels will include Veterans Treatment Court judges and other professionals who work with and support Veterans Treatment Courts.
