Navigate the USAJobs.gov Application Process

Searching and applying for federal positions involves a different process from most private-sector job searches. This free one-hour online workshop from Still Serving Veterans will help participants better understand USAJobs.gov and approach federal applications with greater clarity.

Still Serving Veterans’ Career and Transition Counselors will share practical guidance on strengthening your USAJobs profile, preparing a resume for federal opportunities, and navigating the application process. Our counselors have received training from the Office of Personnel Management, which operates the USAJobs website.

Workshop Topics

Participants will learn about important parts of the federal hiring process, including:

• Finding and navigating opportunities on USAJobs.gov
• Exploring federal career options and pathways
• Creating an effective federal resume
• Determining when a position is worth applying for
• Understanding eligibility and qualification requirements
• Developing a more focused federal job search strategy

The session will start with a guided workshop and then open up for questions, troubleshooting, and discussion with other veterans and military-affiliated job seekers. Additional Q&A may continue beyond the scheduled hour when needed.

There is no cost to attend this online workshop.

The session is open to active duty service members, Reserves, National Guard members, veterans, and military spouses.
