A Stronger Roof, A Stronger Community: SSV Partners with Continental Roofing

Continental Roofing and SSV team members gathered outside Still Serving Veterans building.

At Still Serving Veterans (SSV), we are proud to partner with organizations that share our commitment to honoring and supporting those who have served. One such partner, Continental Roofing Company, continues to make a meaningful impact through their Continental Cares for Veterans program.

Together, SSV and Continental Roofing worked to identify and select a deserving local Veteran in need of a roof replacement—providing not just a critical home repair, but peace of mind and renewed stability. This partnership reflects a shared belief: that caring for our Veterans strengthens the entire community.

This year’s project was especially impactful, serving as a powerful reminder of what can happen when businesses and nonprofits come together with a common purpose. And this is only the beginning.

Nominations are now open for the 2027 roof replacement. If you know a Veteran who could benefit from this opportunity, we encourage you to submit their information through Continental Roofing’s website.

Because it’s more than just a roof—it’s a way to say thank you to those who have given so much.

Secure the Future: Building What Veterans Deserve

At Still Serving Veterans (SSV), everything we do is focused on one goal—empowering Veterans and their families to build secure, meaningful futures. Through career transition support, VA benefits assistance, and critical community connections, we ensure those who served our country receive the support they’ve earned—always at no cost.

But as demand for these life-changing services continues to grow, so did the need for a space that allows us to serve Veterans with the dignity, privacy, and efficiency they deserve, precipitating the move to 430 Wynn Drive NW.

It’s also why we launched the Still Serving Veterans Secure the Future Capital Campaign.

This campaign will fund critical upgrades our new home, which has created a centralized, accessible space designed specifically to meet the needs of the Veterans we serve. With dedicated counseling areas, collaborative spaces, and improved accessibility, this new facility removed limitations like scheduling bottlenecks and lack of private meeting space, allowing our team to better support every Veteran who walks through our doors.

This is more than a building—it’s a long-term investment in the future of Veteran care in our community.

As part of the campaign, donors have the unique opportunity to leave a lasting legacy through naming opportunities throughout the facility. These recognitions range from key spaces like training rooms and offices to program areas that directly support Veteran services. However, many of these opportunities have already been claimed—and the remaining ones are limited.

If you’ve been considering making a meaningful impact, now is the time.

Your support will help us expand our reach, improve the quality of care we provide, and ensure that every Veteran who turns to SSV receives the respect, privacy, and resources they deserve.

Visit Still Serving Veterans Capital Campaign Page to explore available naming opportunities and make your commitment today.

Together, we can Secure the Future—for Veterans, their families, and the generations to come.

We’re incredibly grateful to Valkyrie Enterprises and all the players and sponsors—because of you, all proceeds from that tournament will go directly toward supporting Veterans and their families.

SSV Announces Partnership with New Alabama Veterans Resource Center

Still Serving Veterans senior leadership and team members standing outside headquarters building.

SSV is proud to announce a partnership with the Alabama Veterans Resource Center in Montgomery!

SSV Chief of Staff, Jim King, says, “From my perspective, this partnership with the Alabama Veterans Resource Center is about making access to support simpler, faster, and more effective for the veterans we serve. By aligning our teams and integrating services, we’re removing barriers and ensuring veterans can connect to meaningful career resources when and where they need them most.”

Alex Karagas, Executive Director of the Alabama Veterans Resource Center in Montgomery, AL and COL Larry Vannoy, USAF (Ret), a member of the State Board of Veterans Affairs for Alabama, met with SSV leadership last month to discuss opportunities for collaboration between our organizations.
