Record-Breaking Success: SSV’s 20th Annual Golf FORE Vets Tournament Raises Historic Funds for Veterans!
The 20th Annual Golf FORE Veterans Tournament, held Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the beautiful Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Hampton Cove, Alabama, was a record-breaking success! Supporters, sponsors, and golfers came together for a day of camaraderie, competition, and community spirit—all in support of Still Serving Veterans. Thanks to the incredible generosity of participants and partners, this year’s tournament, chaired by SSV board member, Kristen Strickland, raised more funds than ever before ($68k net) directly benefiting our mission to empower Veterans and their families. The milestone event celebrated two decades of impact, making it our most successful FORE Golf Tournament to date and a shining example of what we can accomplish together for those who have served.
Join SSV at Drake State’s Veterans Celebration Featuring Sal Gonzalez!

Still Serving Veterans is honored to take part in Drake State Community & Technical College’s Veterans Celebration on Monday, November 3rd, 2025, at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL. Both our Career Transition and VA Benefits teams will be present to connect with Veterans, Service Members, and military-connected students across North Alabama. This inspiring event, featuring Marine Corps Veteran and Wounded Warrior Project® – Warrior Speak Initiative® representative Sal Gonzalez, celebrates the courage and resilience of those who have served. We look forward to sharing our mission, providing valuable resources, and strengthening our community’s support network for Veterans and their families.
FREE Event: The Wall That Heals

Still Serving Veterans invites you to experience The Wall That Heals, a powerful traveling tribute honoring the more than 3 million Americans who served in the Vietnam War and the 58,281 who made the ultimate sacrifice. This three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., along with its mobile Education Center, will be on display at Athens State University from November 6–9, 2025. The exhibit will be open 24 hours a day, with free admission for all visitors. Presented by the City of Athens, Limestone County Commission, and the Limestone County Legislative Delegation, in conjunction with Athens State University and the Alabama Veterans Museum, this meaningful event offers a special opportunity to honor and remember our nation’s heroes.
GE Aerospace Raises Over $13,000 for SSV at 5th Annual Michael A. Betot SSV Golf Scramble

Still Serving Veterans extends heartfelt gratitude to GE Aerospace for hosting the 5th Annual Michael A. Betot Still Serving Veterans Golf Scramble benefitting our mission. Thanks to their incredible generosity, this year’s event raised over $13,000 to help empower Veterans to build meaningful lives after military service. We are deeply grateful for GE Aerospace’s continued partnership and commitment, which not only honors Michael’s legacy but also makes a lasting difference in the lives of those who have served our nation.
Run for SSV

Join us for the First Annual Heroes 5K Run & Ruck, hosted by First Solar, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. This exciting event begins at 7:30 a.m. and supports our local Veterans — with all proceeds benefiting Still Serving Veterans. The Heroes 5K has already raised over $3,000 to help empower Veterans and their families. Registration is open until November 14, and participants who register by October 27 are guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt and swag bag. Lace up your shoes, grab your ruck, and come run (or walk) for a great cause!
